The ARC treatment philosophy focuses on treating the underlying issues that have contributed to the addictive process. During primary care a detailed assessment determines what co-occurring conditions are present, if any, and subsequently a personalized treatment plan is developed to address these coexisting issues. (When clients transition into ARC from other programs or through referral co-occurring conditions are treated with clinical continuity of care between the referring professional or agency). Some examples of the co-occurring conditions falling within the scope of care with ARC are:

To treat these coexisting conditions ARC utilizes a multi-disciplinary treatment team of physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed professionals, experiential therapists and certified substance abuse counselors. Based on our philosophy that each individual’s addictive process originates from their own unique circumstances we employ such therapeutic techniques as:

  • Grief Therapy
  • Trauma Therapy
  • Somatic Therapy
  • Analytical Therapy
  • Reflective Therapy
  • Insight-Based Therapy
  • Reason-Based Therapy
  • Psychodynamic Therapy
  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

The first stage of treatment with ARC is designed to effectively establish a sober baseline through onsite medical detoxification services. Once comfortable detox is concluded diagnostic measures are implemented to determine whether any co-occurring conditions might be present. This evaluation is the first goal of Phase 1 (Primary Care).

During primary care effective individual clinical approaches help each client establish and apply a daily routine of recovery actions. When this recovery foundation is set, the treatment focus begins to shift towards resolution of the identified coexisting issues.

More often than not, true resolution of co-occurring conditions takes time. Each client’s primary clinician evaluates their progress throughout the treatment process and makes subsequent recommendations for future aftercare. If clients choose they may stay to participate in Phase 2 (Continuing Care) and Phase 3 (Extended Care).

Some of the services provided during these levels of care include, but are not limited to:

  • Post-Acute Withdrawal Detoxification
  • Medication Management
  • Psychopharmacologic Support
  • Anger Management
  • Stress Management
  • Vocational Training/Placement
  • Educational Pursuit Resources
  • Life Skills Training

Co-occurring conditions often make treatment in traditional drug rehabilitation centers a complicated process. With ARC, these co-occurring conditions are contained within a treatment spectrum that simplifies the daily goals and objectives for clients in order to establish long-term recovery. Many of our staff faced co-occurring conditions in their own recovery process, and this, coupled with clinical experience creates a patient, empathetic client environment of healing and recovery success.
