Not All Drug Rehabs are Individualized to Meet Your Needs

It is generally understood these days that treatment needs to be individualized as well as able to address co-occurring disorders. But traditional drug and alcohol rehabs still seem to be a bit focused on group and other non-customized modalities for the treatment of addictions. Additionally, many of these programs offer treatment to 20-40 people at a time which really diminishes the capability of truly addressing co-occurring issues (Also known as dual-diagnosis).

It’s difficult to treat dual-diagnosis in larger programs because of the psychological nature of most dual issues. Dual issues really require a lot of individual attention in the form of individual sessions…so it’s usually virtually impossible to truly attend to these issues in a large drug rehab program because of the lack of available individual sessions. The fact is that the larger the drug rehab is – the less likely it will be to be able to individualize your treatment.
