At Authentic Recovery Center, we do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach to getting clean. We believe in focusing on you as an individual. While we support you in creating your own personal journey to sobriety, you’ll start working on healing the root causes of your addiction.
By following the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) guidelines, our clinicians take a multi-dimensional, evidence-based approach to clinical therapy, drawing from several established approaches:
With the ASAM criteria as our guide, treatment will be tailored to your individual needs.
Addressing emotions is a key component to addiction treatment. Our program incorporates regular counseling sessions to help you identify and work through core emotional issues.
In our warm, home-like environment, you’ll meet with your individual therapist twice a week as you lay the foundation for your recovery. In therapy, you will have the opportunity to work through issues related to addiction and any mental health symptoms, including depression and anxiety. You’ll also have an opportunity to start healing from past traumas.
As you learn and practice new coping skills in therapy, you’ll start to feel stronger. Your need to rely on substances to get through each day will decrease. You’ll feel more grounded and more present in your life. Through it all, we will wholeheartedly support your inner healing. Here’s what to expect in therapy:
- Learn how to express feelings, process emotions and successfully resolve conflicts.
- Build healthier relationships that do not revolve around your addiction.
- Look at the underlying issues that contribute to your desire to use drugs or alcohol.
- Build greater self-awareness and insight.
- Learn how to prevent relapse by managing triggers and cravings.
Here at ARC, we welcome individuals from all backgrounds and are experienced at working with patients living with a variety of diagnoses, including borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, autism and more. Our trauma-informed approach will help you find new ways of living and being in the world, without substances.
How long treatment lasts will depend on your individual treatment plan and goals. Your lifelong recovery success is our success. In therapy at ARC, you’ll have many opportunities to learn and practice the skills offering you the best chance at a full and lasting recovery. Each step of the way, you’ll be supported by our compassionate staff, many who are in recovery themselves and understand what you are going through.
